MASSAGE THERAPY
Relieve Pain, Reduce Stress and Feel Better
What is a massage?
Massage therapy is one of the oldest healthcare practices known. References to massage are found in ancient Chinese medical texts written more than 4,000 years ago.
Massage is a general term for pressing, rubbing and manipulating your skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Massage may range from light stroking to deep pressure.
During a massage, a massage therapist will apply gentle or strong pressure to the muscles and joints of the body to ease pain and tension.
Ayurvedic Massage
An Ayurvedic Massage is a treatment based on Ayurveda, a system of alternative medicine developed in India nearly 3,000 years ago. According to WebMD, Ayurveda followers believe the body is comprised of five basic universal elements: space, air, fire, water and earth. The word “Ayurveda” is a Sanskrit compound: Ayu, meaning “life,” and Veda, meaning “knowledge.”
Ayurvedic Massage designed to heal the body and create a balance between mind, body and spirit.
Ayurvedic Massage takes a more holistic approach, focusing as much more on emotional stress as it does physical.
An Ayurvedic Massage serves not only to relieve pain but especially as preventive medicine increasing circulation, stimulating and strengthening the lymphatic system, and opening the flow of life force in order to cleanse and revitalize the body.
I also offer Hot Stone , Reflexology & Pregnancy Massage
My Ayurvedic Massage at “Temple of Heal” works on energy points in the body, as well as “marma” points—used for healing in Ayurvedic medicine. The goal is to “manipulate these points to manually adjust the energy in your body so that you feel maximally relaxed.”. I also apply my knowledge of Reiki & Pranic Healing when I work with my clients.
